A Blog About a Blog

The idea of blogging sounded like a great idea. Being temporarily out of work, I certainly have plenty of time on my hands. I do projects....lots and lots of projects. I do home improvement projects, craft projects, experimental cooking, photography projects, I am itching to get back into more graphic design and typography.

Every weekend, Boyfriend and I go out to breakfast. 99% of the time we go to the same place. We used to explore area diners. Diners hold a special place in our hearts. Back in our college days, there was a great diner within walking distance of the bars and our campus. After the bars closed, a group of us would go for breakfast. I think we could get the special (two eggs, toast, home fries, and a bottomless cup of coffee) for less that $2.00. Of course, that was "back in the day".

One night in March of 2012 we went out for dinner. We went to a nice little place in a nearby village. As we left and were walking to the car, we passed a storefront with a sign said, "Coming Soon: Gourmet Waffles". We thought it sounded interesting and vowed to try it when they opened in April.

We didn't get their until May...May 19th to be exact. We practically kicked ourselves for waiting a month after they opened to finally get there. Let's just say, the young lady who created this business is pure genius. I'll save that story for another day. Today we went and helped them celebrate their First Anniversary.

In honor of the celebration, I took a gift. It was something simple yet homemade. Something I know the young proprietress would appreciate. Being the sort of person who works really, really well under pressure, I started the project yesterday....afternoon.

I will be posting that project on my crafting blog and (as I told my daughter yesterday) I will also be posting the home improvement project having to do with staining concrete in order to cover up the paint overspray (BLACK!!!) on the front stoop. I'll also mention the priceless reaction of Boyfriend when he came home from work and saw said stoop. He simply laughed and said something about painting over it. Silly Boy. Pinterest has much better ideas!
